Saving a Settee

I have looked for some time now for a French settee for a quest room. Actually, I did find one once on an antiquing outing but chose not to purchase it due to the price of $1600. Later I ran across this beauty at a great price.
To say that the husband was shocked when I asked him to help me load her up would be quite an understatement. When I got her home I immediately began to dismantle the gold upholstery.
I took her all the way down to the frame and springs and started on the finish.
I painted her white then applied a glaze.
She has great curves.
I love the cane inserts.
I purchased some good quality linen for the upholstery.

It was very difficult to get a good photo due to the placement in the room but I was very pleased with the end results.
Of course, I told my husband how much money I saved him!
I’ll be posting later in the week with the details of the floor lamp.
Have a great week!
I’ll be linking to Metamorphosis Monday at Between Naps on the Porch and  Wow Us Wednesday at Savvy Southern Style.
